COMMERCIAL GALLERY VS DIRECT SALES FROM THE ARTIST WE FEEL IT IS IMPORTANT THAT COLLECTORS UNDERSTAND THE ECONOMIC COMPLEXITIES OF BUYING ARTWORK IN VARIOUS WAYS.

INFORMATIVE INSIGHTS Many people have no idea that galleries will take up to, and sometimes beyond, 50% of the sales price of a piece of artwork, leaving the artist with much less than what you are paying retail. It is understandable that a commission must be charged to cover brick and mortar costs, etc, however the artist also has additional costs in producing the art: art supplies, rent, heat, advertising, framing, transportation, etc. At best, an artist might net 35% of that price his or her piece sells for in a gallery and as little as 25%!

As a result of our lower pricing on this site, please do not ask for discounts or make offers. PLEASE NOTE, IMPORANT Because some of the work for sale on our site is also at times exhibited for sale in shows and galleries, and we cannot service this site every day as noted on the Home Page, a particular work might have sold before we were able to update the site and remove it. We apologize ahead of time if that should ever happen and appreciate your understanding.
